What more could an organized girl ask for? Yes, that’s right, The Container Store now has gift registry! I was browsing my local Container Store just the other day and the music started play: “going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married…”, then a voice came over the air waves talking about this new and exciting program. That’s right–just like you can create a gift registry at many other stores when you are getting married, having a baby, or have a birthday, now you can do the same at the Container Store.
Here’s what is so exciting about this program: anyone can register even if you’re not getting married! If you have a student going off to college, you can now they can create a gift registry to outfit their new dorm or apartment. Birthday coming up and you have a big organizing project? Register! New house? Register for your house warming! Wouldn’t you rather get things you really want and need than have people spend their hard earned dollars on something you won’t use.
But they saved the best for last! When your event is over, you will receive a 10% savings on the items that have yet to be purchased from your list! This way you can purchase all the things you still need and get a little discount on them! Visit The Container Store for all the details.

I am not a fan of storage units. In many cases, it seems like it is the place where people take their belongings to die. I talk to a lot of people who have storage units and who are paying lots of money to store things that they are probably going to get rid or in a few years anyway. Because a.) The items get ruined after being in the storage unit or b.) after years of storing the items they decided they don’t need them anymore. So why spend money storing these things? Here is a link I found called 7 Reasons People Use Self Storage Units.
Do you have a storage unit? How long would it take for you to empty it out? How much money would it save you if you didn’t have a storage unit?

The Bag Stand is an ingeniously simple kitchen organizing product that helps organize your pantry by allowing your plastic bags to stand upright on the shelves. Not only does this allow you to save space on your shelf, but it prevents spills and makes emptying and refilling these often awkward containers a breeze.
The Bag Stand is easy to use, stays on the bag until it’s empty, and can be re-used on up to 50 bags. How convenient!

Are you ready to get organized but don’t know where to start? Have you tried to get organized in the past and you end up frustrated or with a bigger mess? Join me on Tuesday, February 8th at 9:30 AM CST for the first teleclass in my new monthly series entitled Seven Steps for Creating a GREAT Space.
If you’ve listened to my free audio course Finding the PULSE of Your Home: Five Keys to Whole Home Balance, available on the main page of the POSH website, then you’ve already learned that getting your space organized is just one part of the PULSE system. The other part is staying organized, and that’s where GREAT (short for Group, Reduce, Evaluate, Acquire [Containers], and Transform) comes in.
On this call you will learn:
- A seven step process to organize any space
- The biggest mistake people make when trying to get organized
- Strategies to make your next organizing project easier
- Strategies for letting go of the clutter
- What you can do to help stay organized
Each month we will go through one area of the PULSE System. By the end of the five months you will have completed all areas of the PULSE system and be well on your way to a more organized home. Purchase this teleclass today by clicking here!

Don’t forget! In honor of Get Organized Month (January) and to help you keep your organizing-related New Year’s resolutions, NAPO Austin’s 5th Annual Clear Your Clutter Day is this Saturday, the 29th from 10 AM to 2 PM!
Join us on Saturday at IKEA Round Rock with one carload of junk to be recycled, donated, or disposed of, and we’ll take care of the rest! In addition to unwanted items, we’ll also be taking papers to be shredded (up to 3 boxes), flattened moving boxes, and old cell phones and other electronics. We’ll also be holding several contests and raffles, including a ‘strangest item contest’!
Visit the NAPO Austin website for more information about this event.
See you there!
