How to Fold Clothes with Pliio

by Angela on March 29, 2012

I had so much fun at the NAPO 2012 Conference meeting vendors and learning about all sorts of new products. But one of the funniest and most unlikely stories is how I met Clare Kumar the owner and creator of Pliio folding management system. We met at a reception the night after the conference was officially over, we started talking and I ended up in her room where she introduced me to Pliio.

Above is a picture of Clare and I showing off her Pliio system. Look how tired poor Clare and I look. We were exhausted it was about 10:30 at night when this picture was taken.

So what is Pliio? Pliio is a way to easily fold and store you clothing so that all the clothing is the same size and will fit easily into a drawer or on shelves. Here’s how it works. Above you can see a picture of a dress with the pliio lying flat on the dress. This is step #1.

Step #2 is folding the sides of the clothes over (in this case the right and left hand side of the dress). See picture above.

Step #3 is folding over the top and bottom of the dress. When you have finished this step you clothes should be about the same side of the Pliio folding board.

Step #4 you simply fold the two short ends of the Pliio with your clothes on it inward like a little book. And you’re done! Just like the picture above.

Repeat and you will have your own beautiful box of folded clothes!  I think the Pliio is so easy my kids can even us it!

When I walked in her room the first thing I saw was her suitcase pictured above. Yes, that really is her suitcase with the Pliio system fully being utilized!

Currently, the Pliio is only available from the Home Shopping Network (HSN). STAY tuned Clare gave me a set of the Pliio system to give away to one lucky blog reader. Watch for the official announcement coming in the next few days!

So what do you think about the Pliio?  How would you use it? For travel, for your kids, your husband, yourself?

Staples ARC Customizable Notebook

by Angela on March 27, 2012

{Photo from Staples.com}

AT the NAPO 2012 Conference I had the chance to see the new Staples ARC Customizable Notebooks and I love them!  What makes these notebooks different than any other notebook you ask?

The system uses plastic discs to hold the notebook together rather than a spiral or the three rings found in a standard binder.  Here's how the ARC system works.  Imagine what the paper looks like when you tear out a sheet from a spiral notebook.  You are left with a frayed edge that cannot be added back to the spiral.  The ARC system has mushroom shaped "holes" that allow you to add and remove the paper easily without having to open and close a binder to move paper around.

It makes moving paper around SO easy.  You can use it for ANY type of paper, magazine clipping, worksheet, or any kind of paper!  I just love it!

NAPO Conference Products

by Angela on March 22, 2012

This week I am at the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Conference & Expo and am seeing SO many cool and fabulous products!  I can hardly contain (no pun intended) myself to write this post!

Just to give you a little taste of what I have seen here is one of the most unique products I have seen today.  You can see a video of me deomonstraiting how this products works on the POSH Space Facebook page.

These Bento containers from Rubbermaid are SO amazing!  They have small flaps at each corner that you can flip out to create compartments inside your boxes.

Pictured above is a container with all the internal dividers flipped open.  If you need just a box with no internal dividers you can simply flip the thin walls back in!  It’s like magic!

These containers will just be arrive at Target stores this week!!!  You can find them now online at Macy’s.

Visit the POSH Space Facebook page to watch a video of me showing how the Bento works!

Keep checking our Facebook page and blog for more fun products coming soon!

Cool Product: Bag Stand

by Angela on June 7, 2011

Image of plastic food bags being held upright by Bag Stands. The Bag Stand is an ingeniously simple kitchen organizing product that helps organize your pantry by allowing your plastic bags to stand upright on the shelves.  Not only does this allow you to save space on your shelf, but it prevents spills and makes emptying and refilling these often awkward containers a breeze.

The Bag Stand is easy to use, stays on the bag until it’s empty, and can be re-used on up to 50 bags. How convenient!
