I’m always looking for attractive yet functional containers for various projects or clients. I was browsing the Restoration Hardware Baby & Child web site the other day and I found some really neat things. Now I know you hear “Baby & Child” and you automatically assume that this is not for you, but I would tell you don’t let a title keep you away from a really beautiful, stylish, and useful product. Inspiration is everywhere!
Here are a few of my favorite finds:
Stuff Basket
I love the look of this industrial basket with the STUFF liner! Obviously great in a boys room, laundry room, or even in a bathroom as shown above. But this would also work at a lake or beach house for storing beach towels or other items. Again, love the look! Click here for product web-site.
Burlap Storage Collection
These boxes are simple and stylish and work well in a family room, home office, media room, closet, I love them for a laundry room. The options are endless, really! Since they do not have a bold pattern they are very versatile. Trim color available in ivory, marine (shown), and petal (pink) click here for web-site. Personally, I think the blue or ivory would be the most versatile.
Large Open Box: 16″L x 6″W x 6″H. This is the ideal size box for storing CD’s. If you have a deep media cabinet these are perfect. It’s difficult to find boxes that are as long as this one and you will be able to utilize most of the space in your media cabinet. LOVE it! May I reiterate, it is EXTREMELY difficult to find containers that are this deep and narrow to hold CD’s AND that are stylish too. This is a FIND!
Small Closed Box: 11″L x 12″W x 10″H. The size of this box is perfect for fitting on most bookcases or shelves. Perfect for storing items you don’t use frequently. These would be great on an open shelf in a laundry room or the top of a master closet for storing keepsakes.
Large Closed Box: 11″L x 16″W x 11″H. Again, I love the look of this box. This one is larger so it will fit on deeper shelves.
If you are looking for just the right storage solution don’t be afraid to look in the not so common places, you never know what you might find!
Happy hunting,
Angela

Tick, tock!!! Did you know the cost of stamps is going up again?! That’s right on May 11, 2009 the United States Postal Service will raise the cost of a standard First Class Mail stamp from $0.42 to $0.44. So what does this mean?
Be prepared. Don’t get caught empty handed on May 11th by placing the wrong amount of postage on an envelope that will end up coming back to you. You don’t need to do a mundane task twice. You can start by purchasing some one cent stamps now and beat the mad rush. You can also buy the “Forever Stamp” before it’s price goes up too. Yes, I spoke with my friendly Postal worker just today and asked if I would really be able to use the “Forever Stamp”, well…forever. She assured me that I would be able to use this stamp at any point in the future as First Class postage on the standard 1 ounce First Class mailing. This is amazing! So buying a forever stamp now will result in not needing one cent stamps in the future! Hooray! No more extra stamp clutter! This is great for those people who don’t use stamps that often. You can also keep a book of these “Forever Stamps” in your car, your purse, at the office wherever you may need a stamp.
In case you find this “Forever Stamp” business hard to believe, like I did, you can click here on a direct link to the US Postal Service website to read more about it.
Knowing my stamp will work when I need it, that’s the good life!
Enjoy!
Angela

After seeing the infomercial and hearing about these hangers from three different people I had to test them out myself. They are the Ultra Slim Flocked hangers or the Huggable Hangers and they are all the rage! So I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and purchased a set of 10.
Initially I’m impressed. Because the hangers have a velvety flocking they really hold on to your clothes preventing things from slipping off. Love that! I don’t know how many times I move one shirt in the closet and the one next to it falls off the hanger. The indentions in combination with the flocking also allow you to hang tops with spaghetti straps easily without falling off, which is so hard to find. I have to admit I was a little skeptical about using these hangers, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well they grip the clothes.
As the hanger ad claims, they are “ultra slim” and I thought they felt a touch flimsy as I was hanging a few items. Of course my closet is like a laboratory and I use all types of hangers, but these hangers do not feel as a sturdy as some of my other hangers. My set of 10 hangers was incredibly thin and took up space comparable to FIVE of the plastic tube style hangers! Now that’s a space saver!
The Huggable Hangers also claim that the shape of the hanger will not leave the ever dreaded “hanger indentations” in your delicate blouses, which I have not been able to fully test.
If you are looking for a hanger that holds on to your blouses or the oh so popular camis and save some space in your closet it’s definitely worth giving these hangers a try! I’ll keep you updated as I continue to use these hangers.
The Ultra Slim hangers are available at Bed Bath & Beyond and the Huggable Hangers are available from the Home Shopping Network in a variety of colors.
Ahhhh…my beautiful clothes not falling on the floor, how sweet it is.
Enjoy the good life,
Angela
