Where to Recycle: Packing Peanuts and Foam

by Angela On June 5, 2012

If you have the space, of course you can just hang on to packing peanuts and re-use them yourself.  However, if you don’t frequently send out packages, don’t have an out-of-the-way place to stash packing materials, or just want to clear clutter, this may not be an ideal option.

The good news is many packaging places like USPS will take packing peanuts to be recycled.  Double check with the Plastic Loose Fill Council to find packing peanut recycling resources in your area.

If you have packaging foam from larger items, The Alliance of Foam Packaging Recycles may be of help to you.  Click the link to find out where you can drop off or mail expanded polystyrene to be recycled in to egg cartons, office products, foam insulation, and more.
