Dream Closet – Ellen Degeneres & Portia di Rossi

A big double WOW for this!  I’m so excited to get a tiny peek inside the closet of Ellen Degeneres and Portia di Rossi! I know it’s just a tiny little peek but it’s better than nothing!  Ellen: if you’re out there I’d love to get a real look inside your closet, give me a call!
Let’s break down this fragment of Ellen and Portia’s closet in this week’s The Good, The Bad, and The Reality.

The Good
Really?  Do I need to say anything?  This closet looks gorgeous! The caramel-gray wood color reminds me of a beach and is a nice change from the heavy dark browns or the stark whites we often see in closets.

Of course organizing the shoes by color makes my heart sing!  Love the colorful sneakers on the third shelf up from the bottom!  Another plus is that they don’t seem to have excess and the closet has a nice airy feel rather than a cramped crowded feel.  A++

The Bad
Hmmm… this is a tough one.  The only thing I can find is that the heels on the very top row look pretty far back and could easily be lost or forgotten.  Not to mention huge dust magnets!  I would recommend boxing those up in a decorative shoe box (see below) that will keep them protected from the dust and help them stand out a little more.

The Reality
Bringing this closet to reality, or not… if Ellen and Portia went on a shoe shopping spree in Italy and dramatically increased their shoe collection and didn’t want to get rid of any of their old shoes then I would recommend that they add more shelves.  There is a lot of empty space between the shelves and the shoes.  Moving the shelves closer together could add a tremendous amount of storage.  I think they could easily add three additional shelves to Ellen’s side and two to Portia’s.

Ellen, we love your closet!  When can we see more?
