Book Review – Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal

by Angela On May 6, 2010

If you are a mother, know a mother or a mommy-to-be you have to get The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal.  Let me just say, it’s a life changer.  As a Professional Organizer I work with people everyday who are overwhelmed, over scheduled, and often times juggling the demands of work, being a wife, a mother, CEO of their home, and more.  Oh and I forgot to mention that they often put themselves LAST on the priority list.  What happened to the instructions they tell you when you’re on an airplane?  “In the event of an emergency put your oxygen mask on first before you assist other people”.  But how many mothers do you know who put on their oxygen mask first?

Being a mother does not come with an instruction manual.  Feelings often come up and it’s difficult to know if you’re the only one feeling this way.  In this book Renee brings up so many of the questions we are quietly thinking.  The book guides you through a twelve month quest on “How to Reclaim, Rejuvenate and Re-Balance Your Life”.  Each chapter is based around a specific topic and concludes with simple, powerful, soul searching questions.  I LOVE this part!  Topics include:  Motherhood and Identity: Reconnecting with Who You Are; The Transformative Power of Self Care; Good is Good Enough: A Mother’s Mantra; Reclaiming Your Life: Strategies for Balance; and my personal favorite – Let Your Light Shine: Owning Your Personal Power.

Reading this book was both enlightening and exhilarating.  It is your personal guide to living the life you want to live.  If you are looking for the perfect gift for a Mom you know this is it!   Click here to visit Renee Trudeau’s  web-site to order a copy of the book or check your local bookstore.

If you post a comment about how you NEED a copy of the book below you will be entered to win a copy of The Mother’s Guide to Self Renewal.  The drawing will take place on Monday, May 10th and the winner will be notified via e-mail.

Enjoy the ride of Motherhood!

I would love to be able to carve out the time to read this. Between working full-time, being a den leader, day camp director, American Heritage Girls leader, homeschooling, and oh yeah a wife too, taking care of the house falls by the wayside, and by then I am too tired to care for myself. Why am I online? Back to my to-do list!
