Texas Tax Free Shopping Tips

Don’t forget this weekend, August 21st-23rd 2009, is Texas Tax Free Weekend! Whether you want to brave the crowds and shop or avoid it like the plague, knowing this information in advance could save you time and frustration this weekend.
The Texas Sales Tax Free weekend includes clothing, footwear, and backpacks and has been extended and now includes school supplies. To see a detailed list of what is tax free this weekend visit the Texas Comptrollers Web-site.
If you are going to brave the crowds to do a little back-to-school shopping be sure to take a quick inventory of what your child has that still fits and is in good condition. If you are shopping without your child be sure to have them try on some clothes for you before you go so you can check sizing. Don’t forget to check your child’s shoes! What size is your child currently wearing and what style and color of shoes does he or she need.
